I've been making things. Three dimensional things. Well, they're still on the wall but they aren't flat. This is a big development for me. It's been brewing since about 12 years ago, when I had a cardboard box, open on both sides, and filled it with rolled up newspapers so that they protruded from the box at either end. I think it was taped up with hockey tape. It wasn't much to look at but it was the first time I made anything sculptural that sparked something inside me. I've made some collages with protruding bits but I couldn't find a way to create 3D objects that made sense to me. Suddenly, last month, I started constructing these things. I've made about thirty of them already and I like what's happening. The next step could be to come down off the wall. Exciting times!
